SCRIPT TEXT NARRATIVE GOLDEN CUCUMBER

Once upon a time, not far from a jungle, lived a husband and a wife. They were diligent farmers and always worked hard in the paddy fields. They had been married for many years and were childless. Every day they prayed for a child.

One night, while they were praying, a giant passed by their home. The giant heard them pray and said:

“Don’t worry. I can help you. But you must return the child to me on her 17th birthday.”

They were so happy that they did not think about the risk of losing their child later and agreed to every condition set by the giant. The giant gave them a few of cucumber seeds. The farmers took utmost care in planting and tenting the seeds.

Soon enough, the cucumber plants grew and a big golden cucumber grew in the plants. The farmers plucked the ripened cucumber and cut it open. They were astonished to see a beautiful child inside the cucumber. They adopted the child as their own daughter and named her Timun Mas (Golden Cucumber). Timun Mas grew into a beautiful girl under her parents’ loving care.

On her 17th birthday, Timun’s parents remembered their promise and became very sad. They knew they had to keep their promise to the giant but they also did not want to lose their beloved daughter. They called Timun Mas aside and said:

“My daughter, take this bag. It can save you from the giant,” said the father.

“What giant? What do you mean, Father? I don’t understand,” said Timun Mas. The farmers narrated the story of her birth to Timun Mas.

Right then, the giant entered their house.

“Run Timun Mas. Save your life!” said the mother.

The giant grew angry when he heard this. Timun Mas had started running. He ran after her. Timun Mas looked behind and saw that the giant was getting closer and closer.

She opened the bag and threw a handful of salt at him. It became a sea. The giant had to swim to cross the sea. When she saw that the giant was nearing her again, she opened the bag and threw some chilly in his path. The chillies grew and formed a jungle blocking his way. The sharp thorns on the trees hurt the giant.

He cut away the trees and continued chasing Timun Mas. Timun Mas took her third magic stuff. It was cucumber seeds. She threw them and they turned into a cucumber field. The giant’s legs were tangled in the cucumber creepers and he kept falling down.

Still the giant managed to escape and continued running after Timun Mas. Timun searched her bag again. She had one last magic stuff in the bag. It was a shrimp paste, terasi. She threw it at him and the terasi turned into a big swamp.

The giant tried to swim across the swamp. But he was very tired by now and drowned in the swamp and died. Seeing that the giant had met his end, Timun Mas was happy and went back home. Timun’s parents were happy to see their daughter return and the family was finally together again.

 I know it from manual book!

In your daily, you will find such a manual book for giving instructions, tell your friends how to use, how to operate, how to set up/ install something. For example:

·        How to install new fan

·        How to use washing machine

·        How to operate blender/mixer

·        How to play new game

·        How to create an account of zoom/google meeting

·        How to wear face shield mask

·        How to take a picture with phone camera,

·        etc

Today, let’s explore, how to do that!

Here I have an example, in how to use rice cooker.

First of all, you need a set of rice cooker. Do you know part of rice cooker set?

If you don’t, you may take a look at the following picture and its description on your english text book, Bahasa Inggris. Think globally, act locally on page 70.

Oke, now let’s do it!

·        Measure rice with the measuring cup.

 



·         Then, rinse the rice thoroughly using others container.



·        Put the rinsed rice in the pan and add water to the recommended scale or to your personal taste.



·        Soak the rice in water at least for 30 minutes.

·        Place the pan into the body. Make sure the pan settles properly.


·        Close the lid firmly.


·        Plug in and press the switch. The light indicating "COOK" willbe on. The cooking will start immediately.


·        When the rice is cooked, the switch will move up to the keep warm, and the light indicating "WARM" will be on.


·        After the switch moves up, leave the lid closed for at least 15 minutes to steam the rice fully. Scoop and mix the rice well.


 ·        Unplug.

·         the recommended scale or to your personal taste. Ukuran yang disarankan atau sesuai dengan rasa sendiri

·         Soak the rice in water at least for 30 minutes. Biarkn selama 30 menit

·         Place the pan into the body. Letakan panci pada rice cooker

·         Make sure the pan settles properly pastikan panci pada letak yang benar

·         Close the lid firmly tutup dengan rapat

·         Plug in and press the switch. Colok dan tekon tombol switch

·         The light indicating "COOK" will be on. Tombol “masak” akan menyala

·         The cooking will start immediately memasak secara otomatis akan memulai

·         When the rice is cooked, the switch will move up to the keep warm, and the light indicating "WARM" will be on. Saat nasi telah masak, tombol akan otomtik bergerak ke “warm/menghangatkan” akan menyala.

·         leave the lid closed for at least 15 minutes to steam the rice fully biarkan tertutup selama 15 menit agar masak sempurna

·         Scoop and mix the rice well aduk dan campur hingga rata

·         Unplug cabut colokan

THIS IS HOW DO YOU DO IT! PART 2

Helo guys… meet again the English for Grade 9. Our topik for now is about a recipe (Part 2 dari materi THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT!)

Have you notice when buy food / drink product you will find a recipe in the back of its package?

Now try to find out any recipe in the packing of food or drink product around you!


LET’S PRACTICE!

What is yours?

Where is your recipe?

 

I want to make a “Dalgona Zee Choco Boom”

So, our goal is how to make a Dalgona Zee Choco Boom!

In making “Dalgona Zee Choco Boom” we need Ingridients or composition.

What are they?

Here I have (from the sachet of Zee Choco Boom):

Ingredient (for one portion only):

·       A sachet of Zee Choco Boom

·       2 spoons of sugar (or as you wish)

·       2 spoons of warm water

·       Ultra Uht Milk (as you wish/sesuai selera)

·       Choco Chip (optional)

·       cake emulsifier

·       Ice cube


HOW TO MAKE?

These are the steps (1 Have 8 Steps):

·       Mix Zee Choco, sugar and water in a bowl

·       Mix them all with mixer or manual for a while

·       Don’t forget to add a little cake emulsifier (pengembang kue/SP)

·       Mix again until it becomes thick and frothy and fluffy

·       Prepare Ultra Uht in a glass with ice cube, then pour the Dalgona Choco Boom into it.

·       Springkle with Choco Chip, A Dalgona Zee Choco Boom is ready to serve


So, guys… I think it very easy to follow the steps in making of 

Dalgona Zee Choco Boom.


Now it is your turn to follow the steps in practicing a recipe. You may do it with answering the following questions!

1.   What recipe do you want to follow?

2.  What is the goal?

3.  What are the ingridients that you need?

4. How many steps are there?

5.  Tell me step by step what you are doing?

6.  If you follow the instruction by practising, you may take the pictures. If you don’t, just write it down a paper, then you take its picture with you inside!

·         goal

·         we need ingridients

·         Mix Zee Choco

·         Mix them all with mixer or manual for a while

·         Campurkan semuanya dengan mixer atau manual sebentar

·         tambahkan sedikit pengemulsi kue

·         Aduk kembali hingga menjadi kental dan berbusa serta mengembang

·         Siapkan Ultra Uht dalam gelas berisi es batu, lalu tuangkan Dalgona Choco Boom ke dalamnya.

·         Taburkan dengan Choco Chip, Dalgona Zee Choco Boom siap disajikan
